With Kamuy：Nature × Aynu culture in Furano-biei area

The Aynu people are an indigenous group who have primarily lived in areas centered around Hokkaido, with many once residing in the Furano-Biei region.

Kamifurano Town is home to the Tokachidake Mountain Range, where volcanic activity continues to this day.

On this tour, you will immerse yourself in Aynu culture alongside Keiichiro Yoshimura and Kozue Monbetsu, who have Aynu heritage and live locally.

You will also have the opportunity to experience the stunning natural landscapes of Furano and Kamifurano.

Following the traditional Aynu practice of utilizing mountains as essential sources of food and materials, you will hike to a volcanic crater.

Additionally, you will take part in authentic Aynu rituals at the home of your Aynu guides—an exclusive experience available only here.

Furthermore, you will visit a special exhibition museum, where you can directly touch traditional Aynu artifacts that have been used by the Aynu people themselves.

Day1： Briefing/ Keiichiro Yoshimura and Kozue Monbetsu will explain the tour overview and the Aynu culture of the Furano-Biei region.

Dinner and an overnight stay.

Day2: Safety Prayer & Ansei Crater Hiking Hike to Nukkakushi Crater with Keiichiro Yoshimura, learning about the mountain’s nature, wildlife, and history along the way.

Day2: Lunch (Aynu Cuisine): Enjoy a meal featuring traditional Aynu dishes made with locally sourced ingredients, just as the Aynu people once ate. Ritual Experience & Talk: At the home of Keiichiro Yoshimura and Kozue Monbetsu, take part in an authentic Aynu ritual experience. Learn about the traditions, listen to their stories, and deepen your connection with them.

Day2: Café Time at Rokugo Observatory Enjoy a relaxing café time at the hilltop Rokugo Observatory, overlooking the Kamifurano region. Savor sweet dumplings traditionally eaten by the Aynu people, along with Aynu-style tea.

Day2: Return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Special Exhibition Museum Experience Aynu culture firsthand by touching and learning about everyday items and handcrafted works actually used by Keiichiro Yoshimura and Kozue Monbetsu as they share their stories.

Day3: Tour ends, dismissal.
